Teacher spent vacation working, ready to pass on knowledge
METHUEN — As she returned to the classroom this week, Methuen High School environmental science teacher Mary Haight brought firsthand experience that she learned over the summer.
Haight spent her summer learning about energy models in buildings under construction while working at the Danvers-based construction management firm William A. Berry & Son Inc. She was one of several local teachers learning about real-world applications that relate to the science, math and technology, according to a press release. The Teacher Externship Initiative is the brainchild of the North Shore Workforce Investment Board.
